Manager, Donor Services.
Position Overview.
This position is a key member of the Elutia team and as such is involved in setting and meeting the Company’s short- term goals and objectives. Manages all aspects of supplier relationship management with human tissue procurement organizations. This includes forecasting donor needs based on product processing plans, negotiating supply arrangements with supply partners, identifying new supply partners, and managing routine and mid-level communications with partners. In addition, this individual will play an integral role in coordinating activities across Donor Services to ensure appropriate standards for donor review and approval, timely execution of reviews, and forecasting donor releases.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages all aspects of recovery partner relations including invoicing, monthly reporting, donor record flow and relationship development
- Manages all routine communication with recovery partners involving family aftercare requests, disposition letters, discards, and recovery error reporting
- Acts as one of the primary points of contact to the Elutia Medical Director and manages the gathering of donor records for the purpose of determining donor eligibility
- Ensures all donor recovery data is reported accurately and submitted in a timely fashion to allow key performance indicators to be tracked and improvements to be made
- Communicates with customers as required to coordinate record review and donor release efforts to ensure timely release of donors
- Initiates, investigates, and implements corrective actions for partner non-conformances and works with partners to initiate and close SCARs if required
- Monitors current SOPs to ensure they are current with AATB, FDA and EBAA standards and are an accurate description of current and or industry practice and revises accordingly
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science, or Business-related field
- Minimum of five years of experience in a regulated industry or in a clinical or hospital setting required
- Knowledge of diseases and medical terminology is required
- Medical Background (EMT, Lab Technologist, Nurse, Paramedic, Medical Transcriptionist, Eye Bank/Tissue Bank Industry) preferred
- Experience with hospital/medical records is required
- Experience in an FDA-regulated environment, with knowledge of 21 CFR Part 1271, Human Cells, Tissues, and Cellular and Tissue-Based Products (HTC/P) preferred · Ability to understand and design policies and procedures based on FDA, AATB, and OSHA regulations
- Must be an AATB Certified Tissue Bank Specialist or willing to obtain certification within two years of date of hire
- Ability to work within a team environment and build relationships outside of the department as well as outside the company (suppliers, regulatory agencies, etc.)
